About this deal

You can adjust the overall EQ settings, but you also get the options to change the functions of the touch controls. They are set to a default mode, which we have already discussed. However, you can change them to include a battery life indicator or even starting a new playlist. There are some options, specially designed for your personal fitness program. These include a timer and a stopwatch. These things are also sturdy af. You can twist the band round any which way and they’ll survive, so you also shouldn’t worry about throwing them into a gym bag with your other gear. Plantronics has also kept them compact (well, by over-ear standards at least) meaning they a) fold up nicely, and b) are unlikely to get in the way even if you’re lifting weights overhead or throwing your arms up during a HIIT session. If you’re going to be working out, chances are you’re going to be sweating; as we all know, water and electronics don’t mix. The best workout headphones feature some kind of water-resistant certification, denoted by an IP rating. How much does battery life matter?

Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 Review | PCMag

Unlike other on-ear workout headphones that place a painful vice-grip atop your head, Plantronics’ headphones use a novel headband adjustment mechanism that temporarily tightens the fit when you need it. Once you’re done working out, you can release the tension cord and reattach it to the original position for a more comfortable fit. As good as the three EQ modes are, it is also quite bizarre that Plantronics decided to limit users to just three preset modes. It would’ve made listening on the 6100 much more enjoyable had we more audio options available to us. There aren’t many audio manufacturers that can say that. Today they have changed their name from Plantronics to Poly, but that is a recent transition. For the moment, most people still recognize them as Plantronics. For the purposes of this review, so shall we. An Overview These are designed for exercise people. But there is no reason why they could not be used for the commute to work or other leisure activities. They score a lot of points on their build quality and the design included. The Water-ResistancePlantronics estimates battery life to be roughly 24 hours, but your results will vary based on your volume levels. Performance They have been given an IPX5 rating, which means they are certainly sweatproof and can handle moisture. They will also be ok in a rain shower unless it is a deluge. We don’t recommend them for the pool. It is fitted with Bluetooth 5-0 capability, which helps to deliver a quality connection and response. There is though no aptX support, and it only supports AAC. If we have to find something wrong with these phones, that could be one area they could improve. You can pair up with iOS and Android devices. They have just about everything you will ever need except noise-canceling. But to be honest, that isn’t a big issue with over-ear phones. The natural position acts as noise-isolating, and that may well be enough. The passive cancellation is impressive. Add to this the Awareness mode, and you have a near-perfect setup. So, as you can see, it’s almost all about stuff that’s important to the active person. Did you know that Plantronics headsets were used by NASA on the lunar missions?

Plantronics BackBeat FIT 6100 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

It's a minor thing, but a must for headphones you're supposed to carry around from work to the gym.

Well well well, a year later almost to the day and there is actually a class action lawsuit against Plantronics LOL The truly wireless age is in full swing in 2019. Sure, a lot of us still rely on the consistency of wired audio equipment, but with the improvements in Bluetooth technology over the years, the demand for more wireless peripherals has increased exponentially. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. Whichever colour you opt for, the textured fabric finish and hexagonal interior lining hint – albeit subtly – that these have been designed with sports in mind, though not so much that you’d ever feel self-conscious wearing them outside the gym. Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 Review - Is it still worth the Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 Review - Is it still worth the

I got a pair for my birthday from my colleagues. Thanks to it I became a gym freak and lost some weight. My wife, seeing my weight loss, decided to get a pair for herself. Cost a lot of money for us in Malaysia. After using mine for 4 months, it no longer charges. My wife’s, after about 6 months, no longer turned on. If there is one thing that you definitely need from headphones for the gym, it is that they are tough. These are that and more and with the option of changing the clamping tightness a good choice. But it is also a plus if they can be versatile. This, of course, is a good thing in many situations, but it can also be a negative if you need to be aware of what is going on around you. You might want a little chat on your run or in the gym. Awareness allows you to decide how much external noise to allow in. Headphones designed for the gym are relatively common, and there are quite a few to choose from. However, over-ear headphones for the gym are rather unusual. Especially as the design is quite chunky. They are not the only ones, but they do offer a quality that some others don’t match. thats hilarious.i fixed mine a similar way,but it wouldnt take a charge.i dissected them with no good results.they are still great earbuds.i put them through !&&* and they took it for a lot longer than i expected
