In my opinion, if Su Bo Cong was in the same grade as Ding Xian, he might have had an equal chance to pursue her. He was off of her radar because he left high school earlier than her and because of Zhou Si Yue who sat next to her, his presence was drastically reduced to non-existence..😅 Zhou Si Yue and Ding Xian’s Relationship In short, if you like youth dramas, this should be one of the better ones to watch. There are no cheesy cliches like those found in My Unicorn Girl. Neither does it weigh you down with plenty of melodrama like in Go Ahead. There are sad moments but nothing so dramatic that an ordinary high school student is unable to overcome. The couple is cute and this is what most viewers would be looking for in a youth drama like this one. Simple But Realistic Plot But they work very hard to keep them together as desk mates. Well, desk mates are the most intimate relationship between them during their high school years. But they managed to be together for 3 years. Zhou Si Yue must withhold his ability, while Ding Xian must work very hard to catch up with him. But they were willing to sacrifice to be together. Rainbow Xu is not an experienced actress but she is still able to make Ding Xian looks timid and introverted as required. She captures the essence of the character with the way she speaks and her mannerisms. Thus, both of them provide viewers with very realistic characters with the way they depict their roles. Their chemistry as a high school couple is evident in the drama. There is no skinship given that they are students then but their interactions are sweet and cute to give off a feeling of an innocent romance. Well-Written Characters
Ding Xian’s intelligence seemed to be average, but she was diligent and willing to spend her time reviewing her lessons. That’s why she got a good grades in junior high school. Ding Xian’s life only revolves around her family and school. There were no junior high school friends mentioned, except for her senior or childhood friend or neighbor, Su Bo Cong. Ding Xian also joined the same research project group, just to be near him. She forced herself to be with him, and she lost herself along the way. Zhou Si Yue noticed that. Hence, he tried to make her understand by rejecting her over and over again, even making it difficult for her during the research project. But he failed…😅 Well, the romance was a bit slow burn but it didn’t make the story less interesting. In fact, I was enjoying Zhou Si Yue and Ding Xian’s interactions in high school. Their characters were lovable and cute.

Our Secret’s story mainly focused on our main leads, Ding Xian and Zhou Si Yue, and the people around them. The circle was quite small and there weren’t many stories about the supporting roles. Even though their lives change from high school to college, Our Secret mostly tells us about their high school life. Too Many Conflicts
But I had a complaint about the make-up departments. The actors’ complexions were not so good, especially in close-up shoots. I can see the heavy and uneven foundations on them. It’s too bad because they have many close-up shoots, and it irritates me every time. The Characters Ding Xian and Her Family In Episode 23, Senior Su quits his job which has caused him to lose his principles and life direction to chase after success. He also hands over evidence of Si Yue’s father’s innocence to Ding Xian when he had unsuccessfully used it to lure Si Yue to work with him earlier to steal information from a competitor. He and Ding Xian remain as friends. This hard and cold reality hit Ding Xian quite severely when she started her high school year. Ding Xian was always proud of herself. She’s a hard-working student and her grades were good. She was her mother’s pride and joy. But when she moves into a bigger world (her high school), reality hits her hard because, in this new world, she was nobody. Her good grades were nothing, and she must strive hard to catch up with the lesson. And being in a new world without a friend to talk to is hard. h) was set to be married in two days, until everything goes downhill and she discovers that her fiance married her step-sister instead. All out of funds and nowhere to live, her brother has the bright idea of calling his best friend 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 (H) to help her out of the situation. She has always had this love hate relationship with him and are each other’s safety nets when they need someone to confide in. When they rekindle their friendship now that they are roommates, old feelings and memories resurface. Zhou Si Yue also kept many things from Ding Xian because he was afraid Ding Xian would be worried about him. Ding Xian also told him to pursue his dream and seize the opportunity to go abroad. She wasn’t afraid of being left alone again. At first, he helped her because Ding Xian’s parents asked him to take care of her at school. But later, Zhou Si Yue was dazzled by her determination and cuteness. Our Secret was heartwarming and reminded me of my high school years. It was the best time of my life, as well as the most confusing time. Rewatch and rewatch Never expected this drama to be so good. Everybody has such good chemistry and the plot is so good. Bear in mind that this is a school/youth genre, so don't expect too much crazy plot twists or strong villains.

And Ding Xian, who felt the same as him, worked very hard to chase him. She chose to repeat her 3rd year at high school when her grade was not enough to enter the same university. A year gap was long enough for them to grow apart from each other. But Ding Xian never gives up on anything, including Zhou Si Yue.
I think both the leads did a great job in portraying their characters. Chen Zhe Yuan seems like a natural fit as Si Yue with his smirks and air of indifference. Si Yue’s character is not cold and arrogant but neither is he friendly and warm. He is somewhere in between. Chen Zhe Yuan manages to give Si Yue this balance so that he appears just like the typical boy next door. Our Secret is a Chinese romance drama, released in 2021. The story was focusing on Ding Xian’s life, and the conflicts around her. Though Si Yue is portrayed as the school genius and basically this popular guy who is good in everything he does (typical school romance plot right?), but the way the character is acted out is not unrealistic at all. He is not the typical cold blooded, cool guy who is unapproachable. Our Secret captures the most fragile time in students’ lives who are trapped between studies, parents’ expectations, love, and their dreams. Si Yue is a top student at school. He is a very intelligent guy with a talent in maths. He is also into programming and robotics. Although Si Yue is not the sociable type, he has many admirers due to his good looks and intelligence. Si Yue’s father is a professor at a prestigious university while his mother is a housewife. Ding Xian Yes, Senior Su is also in love with Ding Xian. The rival for her affection only intensifies around Episode 18 onwards. Ding Xian did not give Senior Su any indication that she is interested in him although he keeps appearing by her side. He confesses his feelings to her in Episode 21 but gets rejected outright. She also feels that they are no longer the same type of people as he has put profits ahead of principles. the FL did an excellent job in expressing a desk-mate who gradually falls in love with someone who she never thought she would and thinks he doens't reciprocate her feelings. she portrayed a girl chasing her love in a charming way and we can't help but root for this cute couple pairing.
