About this deal

Replaceable pole shoes, cut maintenance cost and allow for Taylor made pole shoes to be fitted for repetitively lifted irregular shapes parts such as pipe. The Magswitch magnetic fixturing clamp will secure your fixture into place. Rotate the knob to turn on and off 95 pounds of magnetic hold force. Simply drill a hole in a fixture and place the MagJig in to use for downward pressure clamping. FEATURES & BENEFITS

I soldered two 30AWG Kelvin leads to the PCB pads near where the wires were connected. The location of the Kelvin leads makes a big difference in the measured voltage drop across the FETs. Since I don't have any precision/programmable load that can generate 40A I used my Tundra airplane's motor and ESC to provide the load. The Tundra draws very close to 40A during full throttle from a near fully charged hefty (5Ah) 3S LiPo battery. Now, the cool part about a Magswitch ® is that you can turn it OFF. Here’s where the magic happens. At this point I was pretty bummed out. It was obvious that the BEC was not capable of handling 5A as a continuous load. This result was not unexpected. I was boning up on thermal resistance and power dissipation of PCBs while traveling and had determined that a PCB this size could only handle about 0.5W of power dissipation to keep the junction temperature of the switcher IC less than 150°C. Magnets can be positioned at different points on the fence for optimal placement on drill press tables. Those are 14AWG wires. I believe that 12AWG is the max size that the board will accommodate. 14AWG is rated at 34A for chassis wiring. If you think you will be averaging more than that, then the 12AWG is rated at 41A. It's all relative to power and heat -- use your discretion. Test Results: In what direction is a force pulling on the magnet? This also matters a great deal. You’re not going to be able to apply 150 lb of shear or sideways force against an MJ-150 and expect it not to move. This is true of all magnets. It is now tolerant of the input transient caused by plugging a 4S LiPo battery into the inputs -- there is no measurable ringing.

Edit 2020-02-02: BHarbour pointed out my laziness in his comment. The following is a bit of extra work to solidify the design.] Reducing the standby current: The Pareto Principle is often used as a tool for prioritization and optimization. By identifying the 20% of causes that are responsible for 80% of the effects, individuals and organizations can focus their efforts and resources on the most important areas and achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness. It is apparent that a 30V rating is not enough to prevent inductive transients damaging the LDO. The second pass, and all the other mag switch circuits, will have a protection resistor to prevent this in the future. After replacing the LDO and the hall-effect device, which was also damaged by the event, I jury-rigged a 330Ω protection resistor in between the LDO and the battery. I plugged/unplugged the battery many times to see if there was any remaining tendency to smoke, but the circuit doesn't have that problem anymore. High Current measurements: Don’t heat up Magswitch ® magnets. Like all neodymium magnets, high temperatures can partially demagnetize them. Avoid anything above 176°F (80°C).Designed to work on any cast-iron table to hold down your work so you don’t have to. It works on both sides of the blade and even the fence. It features two 20mm Magswitch MagJig 95 magnets. Guides Dual Roller Guide

I decided to use a 4S battery and a 60A ESC to generate a current above 30A to test the circuit. When I connected a fully charged (16.8V) 4S LiPo to the input the circuit lets some of its magic smoke out. After all the cussing ended I was able to determine that the TPS70950 LDO had apparently latched up -- the current was enough to fuse the VIN lead open: Not much is different. The change is to the FETs and how they are driven. Previous magnetic switches were driven with 5V gate voltage. This circuit level shifts the gate voltage of the output switching FETs to 12V to extract every bit of RDSon that the FET is capable of providing. The Magswitch magnetic square is the most versatile workholding and fixturing tool ever! Align and secure flat or round pieces of steel to fabricate angles. Pull corners, secure steel for cutting, use as a guide or make your own fixtures with our MagSquares. The Magswitch MagPress magnetic press has descended from one of the most disruptive tools, the MagPry. Designed to help welders to level sheets is the only way to level and align steel. Remove high/lows with ease by placing the magnet on low, prying on high and welding with the other hand. This method allows for an individual to align two sheets and weld the separate sheets 100 times faster than using dogs and wedges. The traditional method took app 20 minutes, Mag Pry, with a 1000Lb magnet, completed the process in 12 seconds. Magnetic Press InnovationEvery Magswitch product is proudly designed, developed, manufactured and tested by Magswitch to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
