In particular i have used the Biorb Life 30 for years and ran 2 different set ups while owning it. All of which have been a huge success and i have had no fish losses due to any complications with water chemistry or fish being trapped in the ceramic media. Holding 60 litres of water they weigh in at 13kg empty, 65kg full and can hold approximately 20 tropical or 10 cold water fish. This is based on each adult fish being 3cm long. BiOrb also advertise this as a good beginners marine tank, but based on the 3 inch of marine fish per square foot of tank, it would seem a little on the small side. If your really considering buying a Biorb ask yourself what sort of fish you intend to keep. If you intend to keep fancy goldfish as I do then prepare yourself for lots of hard work. Trying to maintain good water quality with 2 or more fish will be very hard as I have found to my cost. Guaranteed easy cleaning and care and thanks to a patented filter system the ecosystem is kept in balance First of all biOrbs are made from acrylic. Why? Because it is ten times stronger and noticeably clearer than glass, allowing 93% of light through as opposed to only 70% for traditional glass aquariums.
