About this deal

Depending on how much space you have in your dining room or kitchen, some chairs will likely be a better fit than others. Still, this chair makes more of a mess than our other picks, primarily because food and liquid tend to fall through the booster seat to the adult chair below. For starters, setup is incredibly easy; we put it together in minutes with no tools needed other than the small hex key wrench that’s included. Once the chair is in place, you can position your baby in it, and they’ll be sitting right at the table with the rest of the group. And speaking of the seat cushion, some parents don’t love that food gets stuck underneath it after a meal.

They vary wildly depending on the brand and model, ranging anywhere from around 30 pounds up to over 200—so it’s always best to check your particular manufacturer’s guidelines. But my recollection of this product, is that I remember my aunt having one, don’t know for sure if it the same thing…but I really liked it and so did she. Just like rotating car seats, high chairs with a rotating seat are quickly becoming a feature that brands are beginning to explore. If you want a high chair that blends in with adult furniture and can serve your kid well from 6 months through the end of childhood and beyond, we recommend the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It also features a three-position height adjustment that grows as your baby grows and allows them to be more a part of mealtime with the whole family. Once you learn how to do it, it’s less intimidating, but it would be nice if the waist straps and shoulder straps were somehow connected making the process easier with less steps. While many children may enjoy products at different stages of their development, this rating is our suggestion for an age range which will best enjoy the product. The look of the Lalo stands out from a lot of what’s out there in the high chair market, and that’s one of the things we love the most about it.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to put the fun back in functional baby gear and the play back in playtime. It’s always best to consult your high chair’s manual for specific cleaning instructions, as they vary by make and model. Expensive add-ons: Erica tested the Tripp Trapp with the add-on Baby Set, which consists of a plastic seat and back that attach to the chair’s wooden slats.

Unlike the IKEA Antilop and the vast majority of other high chairs, the Tripp Trapp is a piece of furniture you might keep forever: With its dozen configurations, it can grow from a first high chair for a 6-month-old to a toddler seat to a chair appropriate for most teens and even adults.

span itemprop="description">Grey chair, baby enjoys it, saves space, tray has good depth and a cup holder! My daughter has used hers since day one and is still using it at 5 months old – she loves it and so do I! From the newborn days when we reclined my son (while we ate with the big kids – that was my rule – all family members at the table – if awake – during dinner) to upright seat for baby to booster seat for toddler. The Lalo’s non-toxic plastic material is easy to clean (although we didn’t like having to wash the optional-use cloth cover). But underneath its Aerocore seat cover, there are many hidden gaps, crannies, and slots in the plastic seat frame; in our tests they collected spilled juice and were a big pain to clean. The safety harness needs a screwdriver to remove it, and the screw is tough to reach without taking the chair’s seat out, so parents will have to put in some effort to keep that grime-free. The Grub converts from a high chair to a toddler seat and will work until your little one hits 50 pounds. While wheels can make it easier to move a high chair around the home, make sure the wheels can be locked to keep the chair more stable.
