Many of the elements of Aquarius are in this image – freedom, the unexpected, the Star (the Star in the Tarot is ruled by Aquarius). Strengths: Seven of Coins – “failing to plan is planning to fail” – a great introduction, effort has been made to streamline and simplify. In the background there is a lake, and some mountains and black Christian crosses; in the foreground a masked woman appears to be yawning above a ying-yang symbol.The creator, Birgit Boline Erfut, acknowledges herself on Strength, being the woman taming the lion (desire), the lion being based on that on the Prince of Wands in Crowley’s famous deck. Sadly and unjustifiably over-looked, the Karma Tarot has a special place in my heart as the deck which opened my eyes to the limitless sky of possibilities that the tarot can express. The traditional book lies on her lap, but she doesn’t appear to need it, as her eyes turn inward, into herself, into the deep. Farber is now the world's foremost creator of interactive personal guidance systems, having sold over 2 million copies of his 40 books. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions.

Limitations: Knight of Coins – “work hard play hard” – perhaps this deck is not for those who have already honed their tarot craft, as it might be lacking a little in detail. Farber and his wife Amy Zerner went on to create books, book/card sets, and unique kits that also made other esoteric systems accessible, such as the tarot, alchemy, The Goddess, talking boards, meditation, shamanism, psychic development, and relationships. It’s a quick way of getting inspiration and ideas from the cosmos about where your efforts will most be needed, and rewarded.I could go on, but it’ll spoil the surprises – the imagery within the court cards in this deck is fascinating, and if you know your astrology, a delight. A world like ours, with its heroic, historical, tragic, immortal figures but… transfigured in their cat counterparts. Quality of my relationship with this deck: Eight of Wands – “opportunities multiply as they are seized” – movement, a stepping stone, but also a reminder to look at things through “beginner’s eyes” and strip things back occasionally.

The cards themselves are very attractively illustrated, and have appropriate artwork for each with small symbols in the corner of planet glyphs, house placements, and so on. Maybe there are national schemes for education in deprived areas or with vulnerable people you could support.The cards were designed to answer outcome and action type questions, as in “What will be the outcome of…” or “What should I do about…” So slight variations, like “what to keep in mind about…” will also work.
