About this deal

Tunnel tents are very popular with weekend and summer campers because they are easy to pitch and provide a lot of space inside (vertical and horizontal). Just as we got it up it started to rain but the tent looked ok and had no leaks so was well pleased. Fibreglass poles for a sturdy standing structure, complete with a rainfly for extra weather protection.

With watertight taped seams and 3000mm Hydrostatic Head (waterproof rating), it provides excellent rain protection. Two room design: Three-man tent with porch comes with sleeping area and open front ideal for relaxing together. The Elsford has a spacious bedroom and a living area that is big enough to accommodate a low table and chairs.MORE DETAILS: Designed for lasting durability and performance, such as: smooth zippers for easy access. Obviously, testing labs don’t actually use such volumes of water, they use machines that apply downward pressure. CONVENIENT DESIGN: A zipper door on the vestibule and a D-shape door on the inner tent, easy to access. Most 4 person tents on the market only have one single room; while it’s fine for most people, having 2 rooms in your tent is great when you want to add privacy. Fortunately, whether you have just one or two children or a large family, Decathlon has a great range of family tents to accommodate all your needs.

Registered office: Westbridge Lodge Pendock Lane, Bradmore, Nottingham, England, United Kingdom NG11 6PQ. Easy to pitch, and withstood some heavy winds and a thunderstorm with really heavy rain, couldn't ask for more from a value tent. It might be on the small side, but if all you need is a place to crash, the Pop Up is a perfect option. All of the 4 man 2 room tents included in this guide are solid choices, and which one will be the best for you depends on your specific needs. If there will be 4 of you using the tent on your camping trip, you may find your camping holiday much more comfortable if you choose a slighter bigger tent such as one of our 5 or 6 man tents. SEASON TENT DELIVERS SUPERIOR RAIN PROTECTION: Forget about the weather putting a dampener on your trip because the Hartland features durable taped seams and a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm for superior rain protection. Because the Hartland is a tunnel-shaped tent, it’s a breeze to pitch with three fibreglass poles and sleeves to easily thread them into. We got the tent up in no time (30 mins max) but we did have a practice run at home to see how it went up and to make sure everything was there. The main entrance to the tent is situated in the living room and can be rolled up and secured open to aid ventilation.

I think, under the circumstances, it's entirely reasonable for me to indulge in my all time favourite pastime of tent purchasing. It was quite windy but the tent stood up to the wind very well, it was very quick and easy to pitch (15/20 minutes) and there is plenty of room in the living area.

Not only does the Hartland have a double wall and taped seams, but it boasts a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm for superior rain protection.

A four-man tent can work well as a family tent if you have small children and for weekends away, but if you’re after a spacious tent that will work for a fortnight’s holiday, we’d recommend picking something bigger, such as a six-man tent with more living space. So, considering that, along with luggage and camping equipment, a 4 person tent for 4 people can get quite cramped.Although it provides less protection than a sewn-in groundsheet, it’s removable, making it easier clean out dirt and water. The bedrooms are on the small side, it is more a 4 berth than a 6 and you cannot stand up anywhere in the tent although there is just about space for a small kitchen area and enough room to sit down on the floor in the middle area (no good for chairs). The tent withstood the battering from the winds, much to my delight, as I was pretty worried we'd be blown away. Some tents have an electrical access point in the living area, so you can hook up electrical equipment, like a charger for your phone or a kettle for your morning cuppa. Thus, a tent with a hydrostatic head rating of 3000mm can withstand a three-metre column of water before it leaks through.
